Domani, domenica 20 marzo, sarà Primavera e il ciclismo femminile festeggerà l’arrivo della stagione più amata dai ciclisti con un doppio appuntamento; la diciottesima edizione del trofeo Alfredo Binda, gara inserita nel neonato calendario Women World Tour e la quarta edizione del trofeo Da Moreno – Piccolo trofeo Alfredo Binda, gara che inaugura la Coppa della Nazioni UCI per donne junior. Il trofeo Da Moreno penderà avvio da Gavirate (VA) alle ore 9.15 e si concluderà a Cittiglio dopo 66 chilometri di gara. Dopo il via, una volta raggiunta Cittiglio, le atlete ripeteranno cinque volte il circuito per Brenta, Casalzuigno, Cittiglio, quindi 17 chilometri finali per Brenta, Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Cuvio, Orino, Azzio, Gemonio e Cittiglio.

Il trofeo Alfredo Binda si svolgerà su un percorso di km 123 con partenza alle ore 13.30 da Gavirate (VA). Dopo un giro di 5 chilometri per Bardello si tornerà a Gavirate quindi Cocquio Trevisago, Gemonio e Cittiglio dove inizierà un lungo giro di km 38 per Brenta Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Rancio Valcuvia, Cassano Valcuvia, Mesenzana, Grantola, Cunardo, Bedero Valcuvia, Brinzio, Castello Cabaglio, Orino, Azzio, Gemonio, Cittiglio.Quindi quattro giri pe Brenta, Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Cuvio, Orino, Gemonio e arrivo finale a Cittiglio. Punti critici; la salita della Grantola nei primi trenta chilometri, la salita di Casale di Casalzuigno, che torna a far parte del percorso del trofeo Alfredo Binda, quindi la salita di Orino, inserita nei quattro giri finali, a dieci chilometri dal traguardo. Tomorrow, Sunday 20 March, is the eve of Spring and female cycling will celebrate the arrival of the season favoured by cyclists with a double event; the eighteenth edition of the Alfredo Binda Trophy, the race which has been included in the calendar of the newborn Women’s World Tour, and the fourth edition of the Da Moreno – mini-Alfredo Binda Trophy, which will inaugurate the UCI junior women’s Nations’ Cup. The Da Moreno Trophy will start from Gavirate (Varese) at 9.15 and finish in Cittiglio after 66 km. Once the athletes reach Cittiglio, they will repeat the circuit from Brenta to Casalzuigno and Cittiglio five times, followed by the final 17 km through Brenta, Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Cuvio, Orino, Azzio, Gemonio and Cittiglio.

The Alfredo Binda Trophy will cover a 123 km route, starting from Gavirate at 13.30. After a 5 km ride towards Bardello, the route returns to Gavirate, then continues on to Cocquio Trevisago, Gemonio and Cittiglio where a long 38 km lap will begin, passing through Brenta Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Rancio Valcuvia, Cassano Valcuvia, Mesenzana, Grantola, Cunardo, Bedero Valcuvia, Brinzio, Castello Cabaglio, Orino, Azzio, Gemonio, Cittiglio. This will be followed by four laps of Brenta, Casalzuigno, Cuveglio, Cuvio, Orino, Gemonio, with the race finishing in Cittiglio. Tough points will include the Grantola climb in the first 30 km, the climb to Casale di Casalzuigno, which returns as a feature of the Alfredo Binda Trophy route, then the Orino ascent, 10 km from the finish line, which is included in the final four laps. Inizia la settimana del trofeo Binda; così Cittiglio, Gavirate e tutta la Valcuvia si tirano a lucido per il doppio appuntamento di domenica; il trofeo Alfredo Binda per donne elite e il trofeo Da Moreno per donne junior; due eventi che non temono confronti con tutte le altre gare nel mondo: “Stiamo lavorando per mettere a punto gli ultimi aspetti dell’organizzazione – ha spiegato Mario Minervino, condottiero della Cycling Sport Promotion che organizza le due gare – abbiamo già installato gran parte della comunicazione che caratterizza gli eventi: le rotonde, il cartellone allo stabilimento della Colacem, stiamo per montare le bandiere e i cartelli che un po’ ovunque annunciano le gare di domenica. Inizieremo presto a montare il palco e le strutture all’arrivo e alla partenza. Poi sarà la volta degli archi gonfiabili e così via. Dovremmo avere bel tempo quasi tutta la settimana e questo ci faciliterà il lavoro; dopo la neve dei giorni scorsi possiamo tirare un sospiro di sollievo. I primi numeri sono da far girare la testa: tutte le strutture ricettive del basso varesotto sono “sold out” durante il terzo week end di marzo, che vivrà l’emozione del 18° trofeo Alfredo Binda – Città di Cittiglio, gara del world tour elite femminile e la quarta edizione del trofeo Da Moreno, Piccolo trofeo Binda, internazionale per donne junior che si svolgeranno domenica 20 con partenza da Gavirate (VA) ed arrivo a Cittiglio (VA). “Quest’anno alla gara junior sono iscritte 140 atlete e sono 170 le iscritte alla gara elite, provenienti da trenta nazioni – ha spiegato Mario Minervino, presidente della Cycling Sport Promotion che organizza l’evento – Vanno poi aggiunti tecnici, dirigenti e massaggiatori dei team, come sempre in arrivo da tutto il mondo. Quindi i giornalisti, fotografi e tutti gli operatori dei servizi di gara. Abbiamo stimato oltre mille duecento presenze sul territorio. Hotel e agriturismi del basso varesotto sono al completo: il “tutto esaurito” è un segnale molto positivo non solo per la passione e l’interesse che l’evento porta per gli amanti del ciclismo. In questo periodo dell’anno avere un afflusso così importante è molto indicativo per l’economia di tutta la zona. In effetti il trofeo Binda ha allungato la stagione degli operatori del settore. The numbers are astounding: all of the hospitality structures in the Varese area are booked out on the third weekend of March during the 18th Alfredo Binda Trophy – Cittiglio, one of the races of the elite female world tour and the 4th edition of the Da Moreno/mini-Binda Trophy, an international event for junior women, both of which will be held on Sunday 20 March, starting from Gavirate and finishing in Cittiglio (both in the province of Varese). “This year 140 athletes have registered for the junior race while 170 will participate in the elite event. Avremo modo di parlare anche della Coppa delle Nazioni Under 23 di fine luglio e di una bella sorpresa che riveleremo nei prossimi giorni e di cui stiamo aspettando l’ufficializzazione proprio da parte dell’UCI.
